Colossians 3:16 (NIV)

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.”

Devotion

Music is powerful, and an incredible way to reflect and connect with God. Music puts words to feelings we may not know how to express, and allows us to intentionally consider where we are and how we’re feeling. During this season of Lent, take some time to find music that you can meditate on to consider the themes of Lent and to find hope during this weary age. As you go through the next few weeks, take time when you’re in your car or walking to class to really pay attention to the music you’re listening to. Find songs that will help you to hear the promises of God and hold onto hope as you go through this season. The Spirit works in many ways and through all sorts of aspects of our life, including the music we listen to. Tune into what the Spirit might be whispering to you, and feel the fire of hope continue to grow within you.

Prayer

Good and gracious God, help us to find hope in this weary season. Amen.
